What are the two types of crane?
There are two main types of cranes:
1. Overhead Crane:
- Also known as a bridge crane or gantry crane supplier.
- Consists of a horizontal beam (the bridge) supported on two end trucks that run on elevated rails.
- The bridge can move left and right, and the hoist can move along the bridge to lift and transport heavy loads.
- Commonly used in factories, warehouses, and construction sites.
2. Mobile Crane:
- A crane that is mounted on crawlers or wheels, allowing it to be moved around a job site.
- Able to be set up and used at different locations, unlike the fixed overhead crane.
- Includes types such as truck-mounted cranes, rough-terrain cranes, and all-terrain cranes.
- Offers greater flexibility in positioning and maneuvering compared to overhead cranes.
- Commonly used in construction, demolition, and infrastructure projects.
These are the two broad categories of cranes, with various sub-types within each category based on specific design features and applications.
