Can you explain how Pipe Hanger work?

Here is an explanation of how pipe hanger work:

Pipe hangers are used to securely support the weight of a pipe to prevent damage from stresses like vibration.

The basic components are the hanger bracket and hanger rod. The bracket attaches to a fixed surface like a beam or wall.

The hanger rod suspends down from the bracket. It is usually threaded on both ends to accept nuts.

To install, the upper end of the rod is placed through the bracket and secured with a nut.

Spacers or clamps are used to surround the pipe and attach to the lower end of the rod. Different styles are used for different pipe sizes.

After placing the rod/clamp around the pipe, a second nut is tightened down to securely clamp the pipe in place.

Proper tension is applied so the pipe has just enough support and flexibility to accommodate movement.

Hangers are spaced according to pipe diameter and content to prevent sagging over long runs.

They transfer the pipe load to the rigid overhead support structure to protect the pipe from damage over time.

So in summary, hangers securely suspend and protect pipes using brackets, rods, clamps and strategically spaced installation.
